Congratulations to Doug Williamson and Eric Freitas–Open and Non-Pro Champions of the 2009 NRCHA Hackamore Classic.
Doug Williamson is a two-time NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity winner, Hall of Fame Inductee, and all-around great guy (pictured here with Eric Freitas and holding Ollie the Border Collie puppet and Jayne Wayne Design mascott). When the results were tallied, the overall reaction from Doug’s competitors was “Good for him!” This reaction punctuated the fact that Doug (a veteren to the cow horse sport) is well-liked and respected by his peers—especially in light of the fact that Doug is a cancer survivor and has recently recovered from a spill at the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2008. Doug seemed especially proud that he and his wife, Carol, are also the owners of Smart Miss Merada (Leo Merada x Uno Smart Lady). Congratulations Doug and Carol Williamson!
Eric Frietas and Travelin Cielo (Travalena x Peppys Powderedsugar) took the Non-Pro Championship of the 2009 NRCHA Hackamore Classic. Eric has been riding cow horses since 1995 and has numerous championships to his name but credits his companion Korie Baker for training and keeping his horses show-ready. Congratulations Eric!
Eric is also the co-owner of Freitas Farms located in Santa Maria, Ca. His website is a Jayne Wayne Design work-in-progress and is pictured here.
